A digital pen or smart pen is an input device that captures the writing or brushstrokes of a user and converts the handwritten analog information created using "pen and paper" into digital data, allowing the data to be used in various applications. This type of pencil is usually used together with a digital notebook, although the data can also be used for different applications or simply as a graphic.
A digital pen is usually larger and has more functions than an active pen. Digital pens typically contain internal electronic components and have features such as touch sensitivity, input buttons, memory for storing handwriting data, and transmission capabilities.
The input device captures handwriting data, which, once digitized, can be loaded onto a computer and displayed on your monitor. Data can be interpreted by handwriting software (OCR) to allow the digital pen to act as a text input interface and be used in different applications or simply as graphics.
Some pens are equipped with a digital recording device that allows them to be used as smart Dictaphone. They can be used, for example, for students to record the teacher's voice while taking notes. You can then listen to a sound segment associated with a digital notepad, play area with the tip of the pen.
