Peanut decoration is a tedious and time-consuming process. Commercially available manual decorticators require more power with less output. An attempt was made to develop and evaluate the peanut-operated peanut decorticator. The study revealed that the pedal-operated decorticator gave an output of 25-30 kg / h, which was more than a hand-held manual dehuller. The difference in unit operating cost for the unit was significantly lower than that of the manual decorticator. Considering less fatigue for the operator and a higher outlet, the pedal operated decorticator could advantageously be used for the decortication of the peanut. Decortication of the peanut in which the pods are pressed between the thumb and the first finger. This process is a "traditional method". This method is mainly used in rural areas. This method is very annoying. It has been observed that efficiency and productivity with the manually operated pean decorticator and the traditional method is lower. Due to this tired operating operation, commercially available hand-operated decorticators require more power with less output. Considering this peanut operated peanut decorticator is beneficial for decortications of peanut pods.
