Android is an operating system and a Linux kernel-based platform for mobile devices. The world shrinks with the growth of mobile technology. The Android-based support management system is a mobile application developed for the daily attendance of students in schools, universities and colleges. The application is useful for both students and teachers. The administrator (faculty) takes the assistance in store of the database. Students are using the Android app to view the monthly attendance.
To this day, most college professors are still using conventional methods of taking student attendance by either calling out the names of students or passing around an attendance sheet for students to sign The confirmation of their presence. In addition to the time-consuming question, this method also runs a greater risk of students cheating on their attendance, especially in a large classroom. Therefore, we propose in this document a method of taking assistance using an application that runs on the Android platform. This application, once installed, can be used to download the list of students from a designated web server. Based on the downloaded student list, the device will act as a scanner to scan each of the student cards one by one to confirm and verify the student's presence. The device camera will be used as a sensor that will read the bar code printed on the student cards. The updated support list is uploaded to an online database and can also be saved as a file that is transferred to a PC later. This system will help eliminate the current problems, while promoting a paperless environment at the same time. Since this application can be deployed on existing speakers' Android devices, no additional hardware costs are required.
