Speech-Inauguration of the English Literary Association
Distinguished Chief Guest, Respected Director, Dear Supervisor, Teachers, Parents and My Dear Friends,
Good night!
On this auspicious occasion I am with you with extreme pleasure on behalf of the English Literary Association of ................ School. First of all, allow me to express my deep gratitude to all of you for electing me as President of ELA.
E L A has been a prestigious Association in our school since its inception. He has been working rigorously over the past few years focusing on improving reading writing by speaking and listening to student skills at our school. Our vision is to make the school ............ ... as a full English language school where every student speaks and communicates through English. We know that it is a Herculean task that we still aspire to and work for. A Chinese proverb says "If you are planning for a year to sow mers, if you are planning for a decade to plant trees and if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people." Language is the medium through which the educational process meets its objectives. Therefore, it is very essential that students should be able to handle language at their best level. E L A has been carrying out many varied activities and competences to improve students' language skills.
"Practice makes a perfect man." We believe in the proverb and constantly strive to achieve our goal.
The E L A of our school is an executive committee that includes a teacher in charge, a President, a Vice President and a Secretary. In addition to this we have a General Commission that includes all English teachers and two students representing each grade, 6-10. The President, Vice President, Secretary and class representatives are elected by students. As you know, I am the president, .................................... .. grade 10 Is the vice president and ................... Grade 9 is the ELA Secretary for the year. Our teacher in charge is Mr. ..................... ..
We are planning to conduct a series of activities and contests throughout the year to improve students' study skills and language skills. I am very happy to announce that this year we will be hosting a week of English and all students will have the opportunity to participate and demonstrate their talent and potential.
Finally, allow me once again to express my sincere gratitude to the managers, teachers and students who honored me in giving this great responsibility. I will try my best to meet the visions and missions of E L A. Again, thank you to each and everyone.
