Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) sells products like pedha, paneer, curd and milk on behalf of Nandini. It is a federation of milk producers working in cooperatives. Almost all districts in the state of Karnataka have milk-producing cooperatives. Milk is collected from farmers who are members, processed and sold in the market by the Nandini brand. It is the second largest milk cooperative in India after AMUL. KMF has been on the news in 2010 for milk price increases. Occasionally there are Karnataka Politics spills in KMF activities, including elections for the post of president, and the time of the milk price rise after the BBMP elections but before the Gram Panchayat elections in 2010.
