The instability of power in the country has led to the need for automation in the selection of the phase with the best available power source in the provision of utilities and switch to an alternative means of energy when there is total power outage. Therefore, this work refers to the design and implementation of a three-phase automatic selector based on microcontrollers. The construction of this automatic three-phase selector was interesting, challenging and challenging, but only in its efficient performance and reliability can any real level of success be measured. The functionality values of the work make it desirable to be developed especially in all residential and small commercial buildings using three phases. It saves resources like time, energy and even lives while ensuring the automatic and efficient distribution of the domestic energy charge from the end of the consumer.
Three-phase voltage selector systems do not have voltage regulators built into them and are generally expensive. The AVR-based 500W three-phase voltage selector system is a low-cost, quality system that automatically regulates the selected phase voltage while allowing the constant power supply to be supplied to the load. The system is designed and developed using components such as automatic transformers that do the voltage regulation and high power relays that perform the switching function between phases. The system gives an output voltage of 200V to 240V from an input voltage range of 160V to 270V, thus providing an uninterrupted power supply to equipment.
