In the field of navigation, two systems depend on navigation is the Inertial Navigation System (INS) and the Global Positioning System (GPS). INS is an autonomous stand-alone system that is available on the aircraft, which gives the aircraft's altitude, longitude, and altitude position by accelerometer and gyroscope measurements. GPS is used to provide accurate position information for navigation. Both the system has its own drawbacks such as bias error and accelerometer drift error and gyroscope and satellite clock errors and reflection errors of multiple GPS paths. In order to overcome its drawback, both systems are integrated to provide a reliable navigation solution. The Kalman filter (KF) is normally used to integrate the system. In recent years, systems based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) are used for it.
