It hosts lot of sophisticated WebGL applications. In shadertoy you can live a copy of other people's programs, or your own from scratch. The programs you edit here are shaders, and the shadertoy website provides the default html / js files that provide you with a canvas that is rendered in an event loop and connects your shader to various I / O variables (related to your Keyboard, mouse, timer, etc.) of interest.
