anti jamming techniques wireless networks ppt
#2
Due to the proliferation of wireless technologies, the jamming in wireless networks has become a major research problem due to the ease in blocking communication in wireless networks. Interference attacks are a subset of denial of service (DoS) attacks in which malicious nodes block legitimate communication causing intentional interference in networks. To better understand this problem, we need to discuss and analyze, in detail, various jamming and anti-jamming techniques in wireless networks. There are two main aspects of interference techniques in ad hoc wireless networks: types of interference and placement of interference for effective blocking. To address the problem of interference, several mechanisms of localization, detection and interference countermeasure are studied.

Wireless networks play an important role in the achievement of ubiquitous computing where integrated network devices in environments provide connectivity and continuous services, thus improving the quality of life of the human being. However, due to the exposed nature of wireless links, today's wireless networks can be easily attacked by interference technology. Crash can cause a denial-of-service (DoS) problem that can result in several other top-layer security issues, although they are often not properly addressed (Wood et al, 2007). Jamming in wireless networks is defined as the interruption of existing wireless communications by decreasing the signal-to-noise ratio on the sides of the receiver through the transmission of interfering wireless signals. Jam is different from regular network interferences because it describes the deliberate use of wireless signals in an attempt to disrupt communications while interference refers to unintentional forms of interruptions. Unintentional interference may be caused by wireless communications between nodes within the same networks or other devices (eg, microwave and remote control). On the other hand, intentional interference is usually carried out by an attacker who intends to interrupt or prevent network communications. Binding can be done at different levels, from hindering transmission to distorting bundles in legitimate communications.
