RECRUITMENT, ADMISSION AND SELECTION OF STUDENTS GUIDELINES FOR ALL PROGRAMS:
PREAMBLE:
Recruitment and selection of students in the Eastern Cape should ensure the accessibility of nursing education programs to both rural and urban candidates and alleviate a large shortage of nurses in the Province, especially in remote rural areas.
GENERAL NOTES
Potential students must meet minimum statutory requirements based on the Senior National Certificate (NSC) or equivalent discharge certificate for admission to the certificate or higher diploma programs and the candidate's education certificate.
Provisional admission will be based on the levels / symbols obtained on the June / September 12th grade exams or on confirmation that the study license is being processed by the current employer. However, the final decision to study at Lilitha College of Nursing will be based on the final results of grade 12, confirmation that the applicant has received study permit from the employer and has not reached retirement age (55-60) Applicable to all university programs;
There are specific requirements for all specific programs. The Intake Point System (APS) is used to assign point values to NSC or equivalent subjects:
College Fees
Diplomas:
• Postgraduate - R6000 per year
• 4 year diploma - R6000 per year
• Bridge Program for Registered Nurses
• 1st year R3000
• 2nd Year R4000
Registration Programs:
• 1 year diploma in obstetrics - R6000 per year
• 1-year Diploma in Community Nursing Science - R3000 per year
Certificate Programs (Certificate Courses):
• Registered Nursing Assistant - R 3000 per year
• Curled Nursing -
• 1st year R3000
• 2nd Year R4000
Financial Aid and Financing for Nursing Students:
Funding is provided to the following private nursing students:
• EC Health Department;
• Health and Wellness for Learning; Y
• Public and private sector employees (students dropping out) to provide self-funded study
