A structure relocation is the process of moving a structure from one place to another. There are two main ways for a structure to be moved: disassembling and then reassembling it at the required destination, or transport it all. For the latter, the building is first raised, then can be pushed on rails or temporary carts if the distance is short. Otherwise, the wheels, such as flatbed trucks, are used. These movements can be complex and require removal of protruding parts of the building, such as the chimney, as well as obstacles along the road, such as overhead cables and trees.
Reasons to move a range of buildings for commercial reasons, such as landscapes, to the preservation of a significant or historic building. Moves can also be made simply at the discretion of the owner, or to separate a building for the plot of land is located.
