Insurance Institute of India has developed the course material for prerecruitment test for general insurance agents in consultation with the industry.The course material is prepared based on the syllabus approved by IRDA. In the context of multiplicity of products and practices among insurers, the study course has adopted a generic treatment of fundamental principles of insurance, regulatory aspects, selling and marketing, policy documentations, various products and their coverage, extensions of cover, theory and practice of premium rating, claims procedures, customer service etc. The focus is on conceptual knowledge rather than any specific individual approach of insurers.
