ABSTRACT
PROJECT CONCEPT: INSURANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
PROJECT SCOPE BRIEFED:
To develop a java based application for insurance provides to employees various small and medium size companies.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE:
The project will have insurance details, which allows them to view, the details of target companies, agents, policyholders, and premium payments.
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The insurance company provides Group Polices to employees of various small and medium sized companies that registered with it. A group policy is one, which an employer provides to its employees. An agent is responsible for getting the client companies establishing a relation with the insurance company. According to his\her need, the policyholder can choose from various products available.
The insurance company needs to keep track of details of its target companies, agents, policyholders, their premium payments and the various products that are available with it. Hence it is under tremendous pressure maintaining their day-to-day activities, which is currently being done manually.
Entire records have to be updated timely; even a slight mistake could complicate things. It is very difficult to handle bulk data since human memory is weaker than electronic counter part. It is time consuming to summarize these details to produce the reports.
Hence there is need for an automated system, which can efficiently manage the companyâ„¢s records, provides instant access and one that improves the productivity. As a result of this automated system, the activities of the company are performed with in the stipulated time and the reliable and efficient service is ensured to its users.
PROJECT DELIVERABLES:
A software application of insurance management processing where in it deals with the agents, policy headers, premium payments. It should cover the minimum business rules of the organization, essential database and reports that the application generates for evaluating performance.

This project is divided into three modules:
1. Official
2. Employee
3. Employer
Official:
An official is a person who takes care of all the details. He will be having the details of premium payments, agent details and their commission. He will be having the details of the employee and his policy terms. He was responsible for the company. He updates the details of the agents, premium payments etc.,
Employee:
An employee is a person who is having a policy in the insurance company. He will be having the opportunity to select the required policy. He registers himself for the policy and pays the premiums. He can view all the details about the premium payments, due dates, premiums to be paid etc¦
Employer:
An employer is the client company which is having the relationship with the insurance company through the agents. The employer can be able to view the details of the employee and their agents commission details. He can only view the details.
