The UCSD Integrated Systems and Software Group is part of the Computer and Engineering Department and covers research on various aspects of integrated systems hardware and software, in particular for microelectronic implementations. Our current projects include innovative processor architectures, VLSI design automation for large-scale microelectronic systems, aggressive parallelisation techniques, architectural modeling and compiler optimizations for multiprocessor heterogeneous architectures, fault tolerance testing and fabrication for microscale and nanoscale devices - Power hardware and software design, application programming, system software for networks and sensor systems, reconfigurable computing and new architectures of non-traditional embedded systems.
