Cardiac arrest is cited as the main contributor to the sudden and unexpected death rate in the modern stress-filled lifestyle around the world. A system that warns the person about the onset of the disease before automatically will be a blessing to society. Remote patient monitoring is an alternative to regular home screenings of patients with certain special medical conditions or the elderly who can not regularly visit a health center. This technology reduces the number of home visits that are now only required when special care is needed. This article presents the design and development of a patient monitoring system that monitors the patient's cardiac activity. The system uses standard Mobile Communication (GSM) technology for communication. In case of emergency, an SMS is sent to the doctor's mobile phone, who can arrange the patient's prompt and necessary treatment. The system has been tested for accuracy and speed in communicating emergency conditions to the physician and is in order to function satisfactorily.
Around the world, surveys by the World Health Organization (WHO) have confirmed that heart-related diseases are on the rise. Many of the heart problems are attributed to modern lifestyles, eating habits, obesity, smoking, chewing tobacco and lack of physical exercise, etc. Post-operative patients may develop complications once they are discharged from the hospital. In some patients, heart problems can reoccur when they begin to do their routine work. Therefore, the ECG of such patients needs to be monitored for some time after their treatment. This helps diagnose the heart's poor functioning and take precautions. Some of these lives can often be saved if acute care and cardiac surgery is provided within the so-called golden hour. Therefore, the need for advice on first-hand medical care and the promotion of good health by monitoring and tracking the patient becomes inevitable. Therefore, patients who are at risk require their heart health to be monitored frequently if they are indoors or outdoors so emergency treatment is possible. Telemedicine is widely regarded as part of the inevitable future of modern medical practice. Out of hospitals (at home) to promote public safety, early diagnosis ciliated, treatment, and for convenience. Defined as the use of advanced Tele Communication Technologies for the exchange of information on the state of health care of patients and providing health services through is now being used by physicians, hospitals and other health care providers throughout The world with the conventional mode of treatment. Telemedicine systems are now available to enable the physician to remotely monitor a patient for emergency home applications. Today, the wireless network is an emerging technology that will allow users to access information and services electronically, regardless of their geographical topography.
