The long-range roof is now widely used for sports, social, industrial, ecological and other activities. The experience gathered in the last decades identified structural typologies as spatial structures, cable structures, membrane structures and new materials under efficient tension, the combination of which deals with light structural systems, such as the state of the art in long-range structural design. In order to increase the reliability assessment of large-scale structural systems, a synthetic conceptual design approach based on knowledge is recommended. The theoretical and experimental scale analysis, combined with a monitoring control of the subsequent performance of the structural system, can calibrate mathematical modeling and evaluate the long-term adequacy of the design.
