The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is the largest of the Central Armed Forces of India. It operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India. The main function of the CRPF lies in assisting the State / Union Territories in police operations to maintain law and order and combat insurgency. He came to exist as a Police Officer of the Crown Representative on July 27, 1939. After the Independence of India, he became the Central Reserve Police Force on the promulgation of the CRPF Law on December 28, 1949.
