The bridge recuperator along with the proper stacking method offers the very high mixing ratio that is often required to homogenize limestone, coal, iron ore and other materials. The bridge box beam extends over the stack and supports a cart that alternates its travels gradually along the box beam. Suspended from the carriage are triangular steps (or "rakes"), one per side, which loosens the material in the cross section of the pile. Each step is adjusted to an inclined position, which coincides with the rest angle of the stacked material. As the bridge stove advances to the stack, the stand loosens the material to run under gravity to the foot of the stack. There, a scraper chain collects the material and transports it to the yard conveyor. The reclaimed capacity is controlled by varying the speed of movement of the machine.
