working model of maglev

A true MagLev train is a very complex device,one can build a mock-up of a simple train that levitates along a 1-foot (approx ) track just by using permanent magnets and com mon materials. It is based on the principles that we know about magnetism.
Components:
board, posterboard, or cardboard.
Using magnets, students will construct the track.the magnets must be aligned in a certain way for this to work.taping the magnets together so that like poles line up is not as easy as it first seems.
Permanent magnets alone cannot suspend a train . You'd also need coils, amplifiers, and negative feedback too.The use of coils and electronics is difficult. Instead of using coils and electronics, we just put guide rails on the sides of the track which will lightly touch your train and keep it centered.The lifter-rails used under your train will be small square ceramic magnets commonly available.
lay all the magnets down with the same pole facing upwards. Strap them together. To make the guiding rails, stick them to a strip of duct tape, then lay the strip down on the cardboard or wood and rub the tape down to hold the magnets underneath. The two rwos must be parallel.
For the rail cars, Tape four magnets to the corners of a cardboard 9cm by 15cm, flipping the magnets correctly so they will repel from the tracks when the cardboard is layed down. place your cardboard "car" on your magnet track.
