Time Travel

[attachment=16506]

Afraid of the Dark

Who remembers trying to race against light so you could get in bed before it got dark?

Turned out light was really fast

If only we had a time machine

Einstein’s Great Idea

The speed of light is constant(ly very fast)

If we had very fast spaceships, this would allow us to observe some crazy things
For example
The twin paradox

But we don’t need a spaceship
A regular passenger jet will do
Or even just a tower! (Visual explanation)

Time travel is usually determined by the David Lewis: time for an object passes if, and only if the difference between his departure and arrival, measured in the outside world is not equal to the length of stay has the object. For example, Jane is a time traveler, if she travels from her home in the vessel for one hour, measured by its own clock on the spaceship, but rides two hours, as measured by a clock home, assuming both clocks are working properly.

Until the 20th century, scientists and philosophers rarely explored time travel, but now it's exciting and deeply studied theme. There are investigative trips in the future and travel into the past, while travel to the past is more problematic and gets more attention. There are also research the logical possibility of time travel, the physical possibilities of travel through time, and the technological feasibility of time travel. Most attention is given to time travel, which is consistent with the current physical theories, such as the general theory of relativity. In science, the various models of space and the natural laws governing the universe imply different possibilities for time travel. So, the theory of time travel has changed radically as the prevailing cosmological theory evolved from the classical, Newtonian concepts to modern, relativistic and quantum-mechanical representations. Philosophers were quick to point out some of the effects of the new physics for the prominent issues of metaphysics: the nature of time, causation and personality, to name just a few. The subject continues to produce fruitful cross-fertilization of ideas between scientists and philosophers, theorists in both fields struggle to solve paradoxes of acting, which occur when the travel time will be pondered lightly. This article examines both scientific and philosophical issues related to travel in time.
introduction

Time travel stories have been a staple of science fiction for the last century. Good science fiction stories often observe basic scientific knowledge of the time. Thus, we see the travel time of a typical example of stories about H.g. Wells, as provided for in the context of Newtonian universe: a three-dimensional Euclidean space collector, which changes by the unforgiving boom time. To the top in the middle of the 20th century, time travel stories have evolved to take into account the particularities of the einsteinian universe: in 4-dimensional space time continuum that curves and at this time has the character of a spatial dimension (that is, there can be no local changes, or "bias"). Most recently, time travel stories have incorporated features of quantum theory: the phenomenon of superposition and entanglement imply or many parallel universes, many minds, or many stories. Indeed, the sometimes counter-intuitive principles and effects of quantum theory have intensified travel time history. Bizarre phenomenon of negative energy density (Casimir effect) to the oddity in the odd nature of the time-travel stories.

In this article, we make a distinction between the time travel stories can be implemented as part of the Canon of known physical laws and those stories that violate or go beyond the known laws. The first type of stories, which we will call the natural time travel, use the function or the natural topology of space-time regions. Natural time travel, usually, greatly restrict the time traveler and entail severe technological problems. The last type of stories, which we will call the Wellsian time travel, time traveler pozvolâûtthe more freedom and make technological challenges, but by physics. For example, in the story of Wells ' time traveler, the Narrator, who builds a machine that transports him through time. The time traveler's journey, as he experiences it, going for some non-zero duration time. In addition, travel through any other nonzero length of time in the world. This last condition that distinguishes natural history travel time of Wellsian time travel stories. Our laws of physics do not allow non-zero-length of time to travel through the world (in the sense that it will be made clear below). Wellsian time travel stories are placed on our hope or expectation that more fundamental laws of nature yet to be discovered outside the current horizon of scientific knowledge. Natural time travel stories can be analyzed for consistency with known physics while the Wellsian time travel stories can be analyzed for compliance with the logic.
