Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system developed and released by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was released on July 29, 2015. It is the first version of Windows that receives updates of functions in progress. Devices in business environments can receive these updates at a slower pace or use long-term support milestones that only receive critical updates, such as security patches, during their ten years of extended support.
Windows 10 introduces what Microsoft described as "universal applications"; By expanding Metro-style applications, these applications can be designed to run on multiple families of Microsoft products with almost identical codes, such as PCs, tablets, smartphones, integrated systems, Xbox One, Surface Hub and mixed reality. The Windows user interface was revised to handle the transitions between a mouse-oriented interface and an optimized touch-screen interface based on the available input devices, particularly the 2-in-1 PC; Both interfaces include an updated start menu that incorporates elements of the traditional Windows 7 start menu with the Windows 8 tiles. The first version of Windows 10 also features a virtual desktop system, a desktop and window management function called Vista of tasks, Microsoft Edge web browser, support for fingerprint and face recognition login, new security features for business environments, and DirectX 12 and WDDM 2.0 to improve the graphic capabilities of the operating system for games.
