Plastics have woven their way into our daily lives and now represent a tremendous threat to the environment. More than 100 million tons of plastics are produced annually around the world, and used products have become a common feature in overflow containers and landfills. Although the work has been done to make biodegradable futuristic plastics, there have not been many conclusive steps toward cleaning up the existing problem. Here, the process of converting plastic waste into value-added fuels is explained as a viable solution for the recycling of plastics. Thus, two universal problems such as the problems of plastic waste and problems of fuel shortage are being addressed simultaneously. In this study, plastic waste was used for pyrolysis to obtain fuel oil that has the same physical properties as fuels such as gasoline, diesel, etc. The pyrolysis runs without oxygen and at a high temperature of about 300 ° C, whereby a reactor was fabricated to provide the temperature required for the reaction. The plastic waste is subjected to depolymerisation, pyrolysis, thermal cracking and distillation to obtain different value-added fuels such as gasoline, kerosene and diesel, lubricating oil, etc. The transformation of plastic waste into fuel is very promising for both environmental and economic scenarios.
