WAR ROBOTS
INTRODUCTION
Robotic combat is a new sport where home made robots fight each other in an arena. The aim is to defend your opposition using tactics and your own weaponry. They go into the arena and fight each other using weapons and tactics. Driving skills, experience and practice play a big part in deciding who wins the battle, not just the quality of robot.
The robots in Robot Wars, incorporate a lot of intelligence. These machines include a lot of cunning, knowledge and experience. The intelligence behind the battling robots is not just in the people who build the robots but also in the engineers who design and make the components like the motors and speed controllers. Even the aluminium, titanium and steel armour requires considerable intelligence in its mining, manufacture and distribution. Robot design principles involve laws of physics, chemistry and math’s, and knowledge of power, current, voltage, acceleration, torque and much more. It involves the design of chassis, selection of prime mover, arm movement, pulse width modulator, weapon control system, radio control etc. The radio control systems incorporate a lot of design knowledge and intelligence too. All this understanding took hundreds of years of scientific research and development for us humans to acquire. It takes a lot of intelligence to make a robot for Robot War.
