VTEC
VTEC (variable valve timing and electronic lift control) valve system is developed by Honda to improve the volumetric efficiency of an internal combustion engine four-stroke. This system uses two camshaft profile and electronically selects between profiles. It was invented by engineer Honda R D & Ikuo Kajitani, it can be said that VTEC, the original Honda variable valve control system, originated from REV (Revolution-modulated valve control) introduced on the CBR400 in 1983 known as HYPER VT EU
Camshaft uses rotating blades, which are pushing against the valve to open and close them. Because engines valves played an important role in how air enters the combustion chamber, it makes sense to focus on them when looking to increase horsepower and performance.
When you increase the speed, but this configuration for a camshaft doesn't work very well. If the engine operates at 4000 RPM valves open and close in 2000 times every minute. Thus, the engine Gets the best features of low-speed and high-speed shafts in the same engine
MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative valve timing and electronic lift control), which is used on Mitsubishi engines.
VVT-I (variable valve timing with intelligence) and now the VVTL-I ((variable valve timing with intelligence and lift with intelligence), which is currently in use on the current Toyota and Lexus engines
VVL (height adjusting valve lift), which is used on engines Nissan, The camera VVL, the new system variable "Nissanâ ™ lift that looks identical to the Honda VTEC system.
