ABRASIVE JET MACHINING (AJM)
In Blast Abrasion Machining (AJM), abrasive particles are formed which impinge on the working material at high speed. High speed abrasive particles eliminate the material by micro-cutting action as well as brittle fracture of the working material.

In AJM, generally, the abrasive particles having a sand size of about 50 μm would affect the working material at a speed of 200 m / s from an I.D. Of 0,5 mm with a separation distance of around 2 mm. The kinetic energy of the abrasive particles would be sufficient to provide removal of the material due to the brittle fracture of the workpiece or even to the micro-cut by the abrasives.
