The construction industry is a very complicated and complex environment that causes a high rate of accidents. The development of the advanced virtual world has become an important issue for security education in order to reduce the dangerous occurrence at the construction site. However, most researchers in the virtual world still have limitations such as offline virtual world simulation, low level of interaction between users in the virtual world, and so on. With respect to this subject, this paper proposes to adopt online 3D world Second Life (SL) platform that allows students to play role-playing, dialogic learning, and social interaction for effective and effective construction safety and Health education. In this approach, the Second Life-Based Construction Safety Education Model (CSESL) is developed, consisting of the following three modules: 1) Safety information and knowledge preparation to understand the critical causes of the construction site accident; 2) Collaborative simulation for the study of security cases to transfer insecure cases or information of dangerous occurrence to 3D modeling; 3) Reflection on the safety lesson for education and training to improve practical safety knowledge by participating in the 3D inspection game. The advantages and disadvantages of CSESL are identified by testing the model using a real case scenario. This study presents the potential and benefits of SL that could improve the safety of construction and health education.
An integrated development on the Virtools platform is done. Through the software and hardware equipment, the three-dimensional space (LAMP), including several natural entities and artificial entities of the coal mine, simulates the coal mine layer datum, tunnel data and images, which Allow workers to interact naturally with hypothetical entities. In addition, the system can simulate mine pit surroundings, worker behaviors, and some scene scene accidents (such as detonation, fire, smog and so on). With writing, sound explanation and background sound effect match, the emulation effect is very good. Therefore, there is no doubt that the use of RV can make mine workers familiar with the mine pit environment, recognize dangerous sources and standardize safety behaviors, and finally perform behavioral specifications. The system performs first the simulation of the safety behaviors of the workers in the environment of production of coal mines and has important values of application.
