VINDIO 1.0 is a powerful tool designed to perform
instantaneous fracture and fatigue calculations. Based on the
most up-to-date structural integrity procedures, VINDIO 1.0,
through a simple, user-friendly interface, allows any crack
typology present in an industrial component to be analysed.
The swift production of results and the high degree of
reliability of the software make VINDIO 1.0 the essential tool for
crack analysis in sectors of great importance, such as the
energy generation industry (nuclear, thermal, wind…), the
aeronautics sector or the petro-chemical industry.

4 main calculation modes

VINDIO 1.0 has 4 principal calculation
modes adapted to the requirements of
the user. The “Assessment” mode allows
a situation with all data known to be
analysed from a failure point of view. In
“Search” mode, the critical value of
crack size or critical magnitude of loads
can be determining. The “Scanning”
mode allows parametric studies,
between two indicated values of one of
calculation variables to be performed.
Finally, by means of “Propagation”
mode, fatigue crack growth analyses
can be carried out.

Material data

For performing a structural integrity assessment, tensile and fracture data of the material must be known.
To enter this data, VINDIO 1.0 has several “formats” that permits the user to adapt the analysis to the
amount and quality of information available. Thus, regarding tensile data, on the one hand a
conservative assessment can be carried out knowing only the yield stress value of material, or, on the
other hand, a close result to real conditions can be obtained if the complete stress-strain curve is used.
Similarly, in the case of the fracture toughness, the analysis can conservatively performed using only data
from Charpy impact tests or, on the contrary, if the corresponding J-R curve is available, even a ductile
tearing analysis can be carried out.
