2. SYSTEM STUDY
2.1. SYSTEM ANALYSIS:-

System analysis is the process of gathering and interpreting facts, diagnosing problems and using the information to recommend improvements to the system. Here the emphasis is on understanding the details of a situation. During study, various entities interacting with the existing system and their role are studied. The study gives an overall idea about the manual data entry system. After the preliminary study, various entities interacting with the system are identified. The entities interacting with the existing system are the jobseekers, the recruiters and the administrator who has the overall control of the system.
2.1.1. EXISTING SYSTEM:-
The software development process contains three phases-definitions, development and maintenance. These three phases are encountered in all software development regardless of application area, project size or complexity. The definition phase focuses to identify what information is to be processed, what function and performance are desired, what design constraints exists and what validation criteria are required to define a successful system. The key requirements of the system are identified.
The existing system is a manual system. Although the system also includes a website with limited provisions, all of the major placement activities are carried out manually. The website has provisions of registration only for companies. Various companies create profiles within the site and we are able only to view the profiles. The job seekers have to consult at the office for applying for a particular job in a specific company. The candidate has to contact either the office personal or manually apply for the post in a particular company. Since it is a manual process it takes considerable amount of time for manually applying to various companies. The storage of the details of candidates, such as the resume, call letters etc. are stored manually in files.
LIMITATIONS OF EXISTING SYSTEM:-
 Website has no facility for candidate registration and search.
 Companies also had no provisions for posting the jobs online.
 They can communicate each other only through the office.
 Considerable delay in communication.
 Errors may happen in manual processing
 Additional labor is needed to perform the recruitment tasks
 It was a little difficult for candidates to apply in different companies at a time.
2.1.2. PROPOSED SYSTEM:-
The main objective of the project is to minimize the limitations of the existing system. Since the existing system is a manual system, computerizing the system overcomes many of its disadvantages. The system is expected to provide a platform for the communications between the employer and job seeker. The system should be able to operate in a user-friendly mode for both of them. It is required to ease the operations of applying for a particular job. All users can be able to create their individual unique profiles, with which they can search for a particular company or a candidate.
The administrator should be capable of managing all the profiles that has been registered within the site. Only valid users must be able to search for a particular job or a candidate. So the proposed system should be able to handle all of these mentioned functions.
By developing the system we can attain the following facilities:
 High Speed response for users.
 Easy to handle and is flexible.
 Fast and convenient.
 View Candidates Video Resumes.
2.2. PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION
The preliminary investigation is an investigation performed to clarify the business information system. After the need of the new system has been identified, an initial investigation is conducted to identify the real problems of the existing system. Information is gathered through interviews and enquiry. The next step is to determine what exactly the new system is to do to solve the problems. The outcome of initial investigation is to determine whether an alternative is possible.
2.2.1. FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS:-
A feasibility study is a test of the system proposal according to its workability, impact on the organization, ability to meet user and effective use of resources. The objective of feasibility study is not to solve the problem, but to acquire a sense of its scope. During the study, the problem definition is crystallized and aspects of problem to be included in the system are determined, consequently costs and benefits are estimated with greater detail at this stage. The result of feasibility study is a system formal proposal. This is simply a form of documenting or detailing the nature and scope of proposed solution. The proposed summarizes what is known and what is going to be done. The key considerations involved in the feasibility analysis are technical, economic, and operational.
TECHNICAL FEASIBILTY:-
It deals with hardware as well as software requirements. An idea from the outline design to system requirement in terms of inputs, outputs, file and procedure is drawn and the type of hardware and software required for running the system are analyzed. Keeping in mind of the above considerations, the resource availability at this company was observed. It was found that the company has sufficient resources to develop the current project; hence the system is technically feasible.
