Purpose of the study: In this journal Author discusses the pain and discomfort of the employees while standing and working for prolonged hours. The purpose of the case study is to examine the fatigue levels of workers with respect to various standing conditions and different floor aspects following 8-hours shift.

Dependable variables: leg fatigue, discomfort levels associated with feet, ankles, lower legs, knees, upper leg, lower back and upper back

Independent variable: Hard floor, Floor mat, Wearing shoe in soles, Wearing shoe in soles while standing on a floor mat.

Methodology: Twenty-seven factory workers from Midwest United States manufacturing plant were considered to participate in the study Subjects were equally divided into three groups and were exposed to four different standing conditions. They were subjected to these conditions for one week period of time. The employees were given questionnaires that contain questions regarding the flooring conditions, general fatigue level and various discomfort levels. Pearson correlation coefficient was calculated to determine the strength of the relationship of the variables of height, weight, age and job tenure according to responses of general fatigue, leg fatigue and various discomfort levels.



Conclusion: Based on the above theory conducted the result of fatigue levels are as follows:\
• Employees with shoe in-sole with mat combination had reduced fatigue than employees who worked on hard floor.
• The highest for firmness, general fatigue and leg fatigue were reported when standing on the wood floor.
• No significant differences were found between gender and discomfort rating for general fatigue, leg fatigue or any of the specific body parts.
