A company named YuEx has contacted our firm to establish a system to track their vehicles. YuEx is a
fright transportation company specialized in moving packages from one city to another in the MENA
(Middle East and North Africa) region. The company wants a complete new system that should facilitate
their business, and increase the number of their customers.
The system should allow both employees and customers to access the company information on the
web. The company website should allow customers to track their packages and make sure they arrived
on time and was delivered to the correct person/destination.
All company trucks have a GPS system that allows the company to track their vehicles and make sure
their content will be delivered on schedule. The GPS system on each vehicle communicates with the
main system controller located at the company headquarter using mobile data communications (using
GSM technology). The vehicles locations are then processed and their related information is shown on
the website.
The company customers can track their package by simply visiting the website, then entering the
package number. If the number is recognized correctly, the entire package transportation information is
displayed to the customer. The displayed information include the origin place of the package, and all the
stops it made on its way to the destination place. Customers are also allowed to login into the system to
ship a package. In this case, customers can print out the package information and apply to the package
to be sent (adhere the print-out to the surface of the package). Package information contains its
identification number, name of sender and address, and name of recipient and address. Customers can
indicate using the system if they wish to deliver the package to the nearest YuEx office, or request
someone to pick-up the package for them.
These information are from the first meeting between our firm and YuEd company. Your task is to
analyze the given information and fill the software requirement specifications (SRS) document with your
group. The first task of the group member is to divide the SRS sections on the group members.
