1) INTRODUCTION & OBJECTIVES
1.1) INTRODUCTION
In today’s world computer plays an important role in each field. It has been used in various field.int the current age every aspect of our life has been influenced by information technology. The main aim of this project is to add some attraction and gild in record keeping operation of Vehicle Insurance.
we use the computer technology in many ways, from visible to invisible, spectacular to routine, video games and special effect, electronic cameras etc, in education too, computer and information system.
The product entitled “automation” aim at automation of many processes of Vehicle Insurance. Current manual system that is employed is extremely. Laborious and quite in adequate it only maker the process more difficult and hard. Main purpose of this software is to reduce to manpower, paperwork and provide the security from unauthorized access. It helps in producing difficult kinds of report required in showroom for different managerial aspects.
1.2) OBJECTIVES
The objective of the system is to provide the facilities to all the people concerned with Vehicle Insurance from the management point of view works can be done fast and more accurately as compared to existing manual system from the customer’s point of view he can get immediate services without any kind of wasting of time from the user’s point of view all kinds of transitions can be done in very easy and efficient manner. Very easy and efficient manner. The system also provides many kind of report generation facility. Our main objectives for developing this project are giving below.

1.4) IMPORTANCE OF DATABASE
Growth in the usage of computers in organizations all the areas such as Banking, business and Industrial sector initiated development of morden database software. Database software’s offer a number of potential advantages over traditional file processing system; some of them are follows:
1.4.1) Data Sharing
Primary advantage of Database approach is sharing of Data. A database is design as a shared resource Authorized user’s are granted permission to use the database and each users provided one or more user view to facilitate this use : A user is a logical description of some potion of database that is required by the user to perform some task.
1.4.2) Providing Backup and recovery
A database must provide facility for recovering from hardware Or software failures. The backup and recovery subsystem of the database is responsible for recovery.
1.4.3) Provide storage structures
Database must provide capability for efficiently executing queries and update. Because database is typically stored in disk, the database must provide specialized data structures to speed up disk search for the desired records. Auxiliary file called indexes are used for this purpose. Indexes are typically based on tree data structures or hash data structure, suitably modified for disk search.
1.4.4) Program – data independence
The separation of data descriptions (metadata) from the application programs that Use the data is called data-independence. With the database .approach, data descriptions are stored in a central location called repository this property of the data system allows an organization’s data to change and evolve without changing the application program the process the Data.

Now each and every process and different activities of the vehicle insurance company are carried out manually which needs to keep records, which cause many errors and bundles of paper work. This process results in wastage of time and also contains lack of accuracy.
This project aims to develop a complete fully functional independent system with the intension of improving the productivity of the operations of company through speedy and accurate processing and efficient storage and retrieval of data.
The basic aim behind this project to provide a complete solution that manages the records of vehicle insurance company.
To eliminate the errors & bundles of paperwork involved and parallel to increase the accuracy and consistency of information and save on time efforts and money.
