VEHICLE ACCIDENT PREVENTION USINGEYE-BLINK SENSOR

Acknowledgement

We take this opportunity to thank the teachers and senior authorities whose constant encouragement made it possible for us to take up a challenge of doing this project. We express our deepest thanks to our Head of department Prof.SHIRBAHADURKAR for allowing us to use the college resources and constant encouragement for this work.
We are grateful to Prof. B.D.JADHAV for his technical support, valuable guidance, encouragement and consistent help without which it would have been difficult to complete this project work. He has been a constant source of Inspiration to us. We consider ourselves fortunate to come across such an eminent personality.
Last but not least we are thankful to the entire staff of Electronics & Telecommunication Department for providing time-to-time help and their guidance to make this work possible.

Abstract:
Is your home really safe once you leave for work or school? Your home is considered a sanctuary where you should feel safe. Your home is the only environment where you have control over who can get close to you or your family. Protecting your home and family from criminal intrusion should be high on your list of priorities. When protecting your home, from being another statistic in the rise in home invasions, the first thing that you need to do is protect the entry door to your home with security measures. Security is a prime concern in our day-today life. Everyone wants to be secure. An access control for doors forms a vital page link in a security chain.
Our Mini Project “Password Protected Door Opening System” gives such a security system for door opening. One cannot enter the house unless & until he knows the correct password.
It is fully controlled by the 8-bit microcontroller AT89S52 having a 8Kbs of In-System Programmable (ISP) flash memory as program memory. The comparing and equating logic is used to detect the password.
The system has a Keypad by which the password can be entered through it. When entered password equals with the desired password then the relay gets energized and so that the door is opened. If we entered a wrong password the door will not be opened. Entering the wrong password for more than three times causes the Alarm to switch on.
The LCD has also been interfaced with the microcontroller, which will first ask to enter the password so that the door will be opened if the entered password is correct. It will also display the message as ‘wrong password’ if entered wrong. The LCD display makes it convenient for a newcomer to enter the house.
There are two relays one is used to open the door for which the DC motor will rotate in one direction and other to close the door for which the direction of rotation of motor will be reversed. For entering the wrong password 3 times consecutively the buzzer will be on which can be considered as sign of some risk!
DEFINITON OF WORK
1. This is a microcontroller based system.
2. A 4x3 matrix keypad, LCD display, DC motors, AC lamp and buzzer have been interfaced with the microcontroller.
3. LCD is initially used to display ‘Enter the password’
4. The password is inputted through keypad and compared with default password and the door is opened if it is right.
5. As soon as the door is open, the lamp inside the house is switched on.
6. On entering the wrong password, the message “Wrong password” is displayed on LCD and the user is given another chance to enter the password.
7. Entering wrong password for 3 times causes the buzzer to sound.
9. DC motors are interfaced for opening of the door.
10.Power supply used in this project is 5v for microcontroller board, 12v for motor driver circuit and buzzer.
LITERATURE SURVEY
On searching on net regarding our project we collected some of the useful data from the research experiment named “Automatic Door Opener” by the author ‘Pik-Yiu Chan, John D. Enderle University of Connecticut Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering 260 Glenbrook Road. Storrs. CT 06269-2157’.
The reason behind selecting this project was as following
People may have difficulty accessing the entry door to their house because it is difficult for them to turn a key or they cannot maneuver a wheelchair into a position to either open the door or grasp the doorknob. The Automatic Door Opener is designed to pneumatically open or close a door by remote control using radio frequency communication technology. The work described in this report is part of a National Science Foundation' sponsored effort to have student engineers at universities throughout the US design and construct devices for persons with disabilities. The original project work consisted of A Remote Control, the Door frame Circuitry, and
The Door Controlling unit. It was modified by us and a keypad, microcontroller, DC motor were the components added for the sake of simplicity. The security provided in the original work was in terms of fingerprints identification; instead we provided the security by means of password.
The door can be opened only when the correct password was inputted. The door opening technique used in the original project was consisting of an air compressor, a tank, and a pneumatic cylinder. The decoded signal sent to the Door Controlling Unit from the Door Frame Circuitry pressurizes the air tank and the air compressor. The air compressor pressurizes the pneumatic cylinder to extend the stroke (to open the door) or to retract the stroke (to close the door). Power supplied to the Door Controlling Unit is from the household (1 1OVAC). When the door is closed, extending the electric deadbolt latches the door. Whereas we simply used the DC motors and gear and rack mechanism for opening and closing of the door.
