A high quality concrete floor or pavement requires not only to be level, but also to have high wear resistance, high compressive strength, contraction reduction and minimal water permeability. The TREMIX method, started by TREMIX AB, SWEDEN and introduced by Aquarius in India in 1987, is a system for placing high quality concrete floors with superior profitability. Aquarius subsequently entered into a technical collaboration with TREMIX AB, in 1991 to begin production of the vacuum system in India. The key to the use of this method is the dehydration of concrete by the vacuum process. Excess water from the concrete is removed immediately after placement and vibration, reducing the water: cement ratio to an optimum level. Therefore, the adoption of the TREMIX method facilitates the use of concrete with better workability than is normally possible. The cure ratio leads to a noticeable improvement in almost all concrete properties.
