An underwater windmill as a device that draws energy from the tides. Renewable energy technologies are becoming an increasingly favorable alternative to conventional energy sources to mitigate problems related to fossil fuels. Tidal power offers a vast and reliable power source. This technology is similar to wind power technology, with rotor blades driven not by wind power, but by tidal currents. The gravitational attraction of the moon produces a rapid tidal current, which turns the long blades of the turbine. Which in turn produces electricity through different parts of the underwater windmill. This energy derived from the moon which now helps feed a small Arctic village.


Advantages

 The energy of the tides is completely renewable.
 Tidal energy does not produce emissions.
 Hidden under water.
 Have less impact on the environment.
 Low operating cost
 Long life with little maintenance
 Reduces dependence on fossil fuels.

Disadvantages

 The initial cost is very high
 Very difficult to install
 The blade must be coated to prevent corrosion.
 Damage habitat up to 500 km away
