Mahindra and Mahindra today announced the launch of their new 1.99-liter diesel engine in India. The new mHawk engine will now power up the New Generation Scorpio and New Age XUV500, which will be available to Mahindra customers in Delhi and NCR. This is apparently Mahindra's strategy to address the recent ban on the registration of diesel vehicles with 2000cc engines or more in the regions mentioned. Automaker Mahome & Mahindra Ltd today introduced the 'Intelli-Hybrid' hybrid hybrid technology in the following Scorpio engine powered by 1.99L mHAWK engine for Delhi and NCR. The Scorpio with Intelli-Hybrid is available at an initial price of Rs. 9.35 lac for model S4 * and will be on sale with immediate effect. Being a mild hybrid, the Scorpio will be sold with a 5% concessional value added tax (VAT) in Delhi which translates into a Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 90,000 for the customer, depending on the variant purchased.
