Introduction:-

Using any TV remote control can operate this remote control receiving unit. We know TV remote control emits infrared light pulses of frequency 36 KHZ. This project can sense 36KHZ infrared light signals and activate/de-activate a relay connected its output.
After connecting 12 Volts power supply to the circuit, direct TV remote control to the black. IR sensor to the receiving unit. Press any of the buttons of remote control. The relay will be activated. If remote control button is pressed again relay will be de-activated. Range of operation is more than 35 feet. Load to be controlled can be connected via normally opened connections of the relay.

Project Overview:
Control, we can operate this remote control receiving unit. Then T.V. remote control emits infrared light pulses of frequency 36 KHZ. This project can sense 36 KHZ infrared signals and activate / de-activate a relay connected at its output. Range of operation is more than 35 feet. The IR signal will be directed towards the IR sensing circuit. This signal will be given as the trigger input for the timer (pulse generator)
The pulse generated from 555 Timer acts as input to J/K Dual J-K Master/Slave Flip-Flop. Depending upon the output of F/F the relay will be activated or deactivated so that the appliance will be turn ON/OFF.

Remote:-
A remote control is a component of an electronics device, most commonly used for operating the television device wirelessly from a short line-of-sight distance. Most remote controls for electronic appliances use a near infrared diode to emit a beam of light that reaches the device.

IR Sensing Circuit:-

"IR" stands for infrared. Infrared light is invisible since its frequency is below that of visible red. Otherwise, it is like any other light source, operating under the same laws of physics. In most cases, the IR signals are produced by an LED source. The IR signal will be directed towards the IR sensing circuit. IR remote sensor IC TSOP 1738 is used for recieving the signal. This signal will be given as the trigger input for the timer (pulse generator).

INFRARED SENSORS

Wireless Communication:-
Wireless communication, as the term implies, allows information to be exchanged between two devices without the use of wire or cable. Information is being transmitted and received using electromagnetic energy, also referred to as electromagnetic radiation. One of the most familiar sources of electromagnetic radiation is the sun; other common sources include TV and radio signals, light bulbs and microwaves.
The electromagnetic spectrum classifies electromagnetic energy according to frequency or wavelength (both described below). As shown in Figure 1, the electromagnetic spectrum ranges from energy waves having extremely low frequency (ELF) to energy waves having much higher frequency, such as x-rays.
