PLS PROVIDE GM LOCO TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE OF EMD, SIEMENS AND MEDHA

Southern Railway has published a revised and updated troubleshooting guide for Loco Pilots (LP) and Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) to help them rectify the technical problems they encounter while piloting the engines.

Running on 102 pages, the guide is intended for locating BG type Alco locomotives, the main hall of the Indian railroad. The glossy manual with photographs has been designed and developed by a team of the Diesel Traction Training Center (DTTC) based in Tiruchi with entrances from several railway sheds. The manual published after a period of 15 years not only mentions 55 main types of technical problems and the procedures to rectify them.

The engine does not start, the engine does not start, the throttle does not respond, the poor drag and the power line pressure are not accumulating, amidst the myriad problems mentioned in the guide. The updated manual had become necessary due to the making of new variants of Alco's insane and the technological improvements carried out in such engines, the officials told the Hindu. "The guide would serve as a reckoner ready for crazy pilots and help ensure the punctuality and safety of locomotives," officials said. Until now, locomotive pilots used to call the respective diesel or division dealers to solve the problem.
