Karnataka Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer affairs resumed the process of accepting Online Applications for issuing fresh Ration Cards for citizens who don’t have ration cards. But this time the process is made online. People applying for Ration card should submit the application through the online application.
Karnataka FCSCA has opened a website with the help of National Informatics Center (NIC) for this purpose. The detailed database of Consumers having Ration card is also prepared. From last few months the new applications for ration cards was not accepted. Almost 12 Lakh duplicate Ration Cards were confiscated and cancelled.
Now those who are genuinely eligible for getting Ration Cards can apply online for New Ration Card. Even if you have temporary ration card which is expired can get the permanent ration card. Here is the step by step process of applying online.
Citizens residing only in Urban Areas can apply online. People in rural areas should submit the application at the concerned Gram Panchayath Office by paying Rs.10/- as fee.

In Rural areas, the registration for Ration Card will be done through Grama Panchayath Office by paying Rs.10. In urban areas, registration can be done in Office of Deputy Director, Food Department or at any Cyber Cafe.
