FDMA IN THE SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The artificial earth satellite is an object, orbiting the earth, which contains radio equipment such as receiver, amplifier, signal processor, transmitter, etc., and powered by solar photovoltaic module. The first commercial satellite was launched in August 1965. Since then numerous satellites have been launched for communications navigation, defense, broadcasting and other purposes.
Satellite systems may be national (used by a single country such as the Canadian Telecommunications System or the Indio-INSAT Satellite System), a regional system used by two or more countries (Franco-German symphonic system) and global intercontinental systems such as INTELSAT, INMARSAT, ASIASAT, INTERSPUTNIK, etc. The uses of the allocation of space segments of satellite systems and the allocation of frequencies are coordinated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) based in Geneva. Specific frequency bands are assigned for use in satellite systems:
S-Band 2GHz
C-band -4 GHz
Ku-band -11GHz
KA band -18GHz
In general, the uplink and downlink frequencies are different to avoid interference.
The satellite remains in orbit in position due to the balance of centripetal forces in the satellite and the gravitational force of the earth. For this to happen, the height of the satellite must be more than 600 km from the earth's surface.
