Sanitation campaign was started for the following reasons:

1. Stop the opened skull

A United Nations survey has found that 60% of India's population in the open is toilet, it creates diseases like health, health, diarrhea, typhoid, cholera etc. for the population.

2. Loss of GDP

According to the World Bank report, due to poor sanitation and hygiene of people, India accounts for 6.4% of GDP.

3. Preventing death from diarrhea

It is estimated that due to being in diarrhea, more than 1000 children die every day in India due to open sewage and poor hygiene facilities.

4. Stop the contamination of rivers

Most rivers in India are vulnerable to bath due to pollution from human effluents. Studies have shown that the holy river Ganges is not suitable for bathing because it is 120 times more than the allowed limit.

Benefits of Swachh Bharat Mission

If it succeeds, Swachh Bharat Mission will bring many benefits, the top benefits of this program are given here:

1. Increase in tourism

India is a country of different cultures, heritage, monuments, beautiful scenery and landscape. These sites attract tourists from different regions of the world. The tourism industry contributes 6.6% of the gross domestic product for the population. However, poor sanitation is a primary hindrance in tourism sector in attracting foreign tourists in the country. Therefore, this Sanitation campaign is expected to increase tourist flow to further contribute to GDP growth.

2. Improve health of people

If open defecation is a halt, then the risk of life-threatening diseases will be reduced. Cleanliness campaign hopes to improve the health of manpower. A World Health Organization study finds that poor sanitary condition every year damages every Indian 6500 rupees. There is a possibility of a positive change in the health of the common people for cleanliness.

3. Adopt Clean Technology

Another objective of this initiative is to focus on the use of clean technology / non polluting techniques. This means using bio-degenerative fuel and products to avoid pollution. Advanced technology and innovation will be required from young people moving toward cleaner products / environment. Therefore, the purpose of this campaign is to achieve advanced technology and develops to keep India in the midst of the developing countries league.

4. Improve productivity of individuals

The health of the person affects the productivity at the workplace. A healthy person can work more and can increase the earning potential for a long time. Healthy nation's GDP is more than the sick countries of Asia / Africa. Therefore, to achieve a healthy society and to respect the development of the country.

5. attract foreign direct investment (FDI)

India needs foreign direct investment from foreign companies to develop economically and offer employment to local youth. Sanitation Campaign helped Singapore to achieve FDI of more than 1977-87 and rapidly changed into a developed country. Similarly, Clean India can help boost FDI in India to accelerate the development of the mission.

The Mahatma once said that "cleanliness is more important than freedom". In this quote, Bapuji clearly explained the importance of maintaining proper hygiene to get a good health for a peaceful life. A clean India is possible if there is a wider participation from the public. Participate wholeheartedly and improve the image of India globally.

Here are some disadvantages:

There is a lot of help needed - only a handful of people can not make any changes in themselves. Most people do not take part in the cleanliness campaign because they have to do something for the lack of desire and for the better the time. Until the general public is fully involved, the objectives of the campaign can not be achieved. It is very difficult to change mindset overnight.

Incompatibility of continuous efforts - There is a lack of constant effort from the government. For example, the cleanliness campaign fits and starts (as before election or on certain days of national importance like Gandhi Jayanti) and not on regular basis. If government employees are given a job to maintain cleanliness, then they will not take it seriously due to their defined perspective. Also, there is a great need of coordination between different departments.

Difficulty in implementing - People are encouraged to take part in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, whereas those who do not have to be dragged on the streets are punished nor punished, unlike foreign countries, where one has to get rid of the trash Can be penalized for. Strict action should be taken against the dirty people nearby. Although the campaign can not work on its own, it should also have some legal basis, however, these laws can not be implemented or implemented because a large percentage of Indians, especially in rural areas, are still open Have to poison.

No clear goal - roads and growing
