INTRODUCTION

-Usenet is a world wide distributed internet discussion system.

-It is developed from the general purpose UUCP Architecture.

-UUCP is a Unix-to-Unix copy. This refers to a suite of computer programs and protocols allowing execution of commands and transfer of files, emails and net news between computers.

-Many Internet service providers, and many other Internet sites, operate news servers for their users to access.

-A news server is a set of computer software used to handle Usenet articles.

-It may also refer to a computer itself which is primarily or solely used for handling Usenet
