Ability to conduct business with a mobile device. Mobile devices such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and other wireless devices. Very different from the traditional e-commerce. M-commerce is "delivering e-commerce capabilities directly into the hands, anywhere, through wireless technology" and "putting a point of sale in the hands of the customer anywhere." This can be done with just a mobile phone, a PDA connected to a mobile phone or even a laptop connected to a mobile phone. M-commerce is also referred to as wireless e-commerce.
E-commerce has attracted significant attention in recent years. Advances in e-commerce have resuscitated in significant progress toward strategies, requirements and development of e-commerce applications. Almost all applications planned and developed so far involve fixed or stationary users with wired infrastructure, such as the browser on a PC connected to the Internet through telephone lines or a local area network. A new e-commerce application such as "Wireless E-Commerce" or "Mobile E-Commerce" will benefit one to reach consumers directly, no matter where they are.
The emergence of M-commerce, a synonym for wireless e-commerce allows one to do the same function that can be done through the Internet. This can be done by connecting a PDA to a mobile phone, or even to a laptop connected to a mobile phone. Mobile Commerce is perfect for the group that always keeps a mobile phone aside every time. A study of the wireless data and computing service, a strategic analytics division, reports that the mobile commerce market could rise to $ 200 billion in 2004. The report predicts that transactions over wireless devices will generate about $ 14 billion Per year.
