The project is designed to develop a robotic vehicle that is controlled by a cell phone. DTMF commands from a phone are sent to another cell phone which is mounted on the robot. These commands are fed to a microcontroller of 8051 family to operate the vehicle movement through motor interface.

The main scope of project is to send commands from one cell phone to be received by another cell phone mounted on the robot to receive the DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) mode commands which are then decoded by a DTMF decoder.

The corresponding codes are then fed to a microcontroller, programmed to recognize those codes to operate 2nos DC motors through motor driver IC for any direction movement as per the sent commands from sender’s mobile. The motors are controlled using motor driver IC which is interfaced to the microcontroller. It uses microcontroller from 8051 family and a battery for power source.

Further the project can be enhanced by interfacing it with additional motors for multipurpose activity. For example, it can be developed into pick n place robot or fire fighting robot with water pump etc.

Applications:

1) This line following robot can also be modified to a walking robot in any surface by using only one motor with homemade fixtures as per the detailed instructions give.

2) Similarly the same walking robot can be attached with special magnetic material as per instructions to climb a wall of any vertical metallic surface say a refrigerator body.

DTMF is the acronym for Dual tone modulation frequency. Robotic vehicle based on DTMF technology is explained in this article. Here is a circuit that operates the robot without using a microcontroller. This circuit consists of simple ICs.

When a key is pressed from our mobile, it generates a tone combination of two frequencies from our keypad. In the two frequencies, one is high frequency and another one is low frequency. This frequency can be decoded by the decoder IC into binary sequence.

Kekerapan modulasi dwi nada DTMF untuk singkatan. Rencana ini adalah tentang sebuah robot kenderaan berdasarkan teknologi DTMF menjelaskan. Berikut adalah litar yang beroperasi robot tersebut tanpa menggunakan sebuah mikropengawal. Litar ini terdiri daripada ICS mudah.

Kekunci yang ditekan dari mudah alih kami pad kekunci menghasilkan kombinasi dua frekuensi. Dalam dua keadaan, kekerapan tinggi adalah frekuensi rendah dan satu lagi. IC penyahkod kekerapan ini boleh digunakan untuk menyahkod jujukan yang perduaan.
