Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha is an Indian education society dedicated to the education of women. It was created by Dhondo Keshav Karve in 1896 as Hingane Stree Shikshan Samstha. In 1896, Bharat Ratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve founded an institution in a village called Hingne near the city of Pune. Prof. Maharshi Karve devoted his life to the humanitarian goal of raising the women who made up most of the socially oppressed people during this period. For his sacrifice and dedicated social work, Maharshi Karve was awarded "Bharat Ratna", the highest national award.

On June 14, 1896, Maharshi Karve started "Home for Widows" along with the school for widows in a small town called Hingne in Pune. The home for the widows was then called "Hingne Stree Shikshan Samstha" and the school was named "Mahilashram High School". Later the institution was renamed "Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha".

The institution has expanded and has 60 educational units with diversified branches throughout Maharashtra with units located in Pune, Wai, Ratnagiri, Nagpur, Kamshet, etc. All these units are intended only for girls. The institution has established branches such as engineering, architecture, management, nursing, fashion technology, vocational training institution and health center.
