Hi I am Walter I would like to get details about the vehicle speed checker for highways using microcontroller. I leave Harare Zimbabwe and studying for degree in instrumentation and control .I would like to get the circuit diagram as well as the source code and hexfile

While driving on the roads, motorists must not exceed the maximum speed authorized for their vehicle. However, accidents still occur due to violations accelerating since drivers tend to ignore their tachometers.

This speed controller is very useful for road traffic police because it will not only provide a digital display in accordance with a speed vehicle "s, but an alarm if the vehicle exceeds the speed limit for the motorway.

The system includes essentially two transmitters-LDR pairs of laser sensors, which are installed on the road 100 meters, with the transmitter and sensor of LDR of each pair on opposite sides of the road. The installation of lasers and LDR is represented below fig. The system displays the time taken for the vehicle to cross this distance 100 m from one pair to the other with a resolution of 0.01 seconds from which the vehicle's speed can be calculated as follows:

This report focus on developing a system to control and achieve accurate direction speed for different vehicles with a class of non-linear systems along with obstacles which are present by using wireless communication technique. This idealized control law achieves perfect direction & speed however. The method is applied to the control of a two-link manipulator handling variable loads in a flexible manufacturing system environment. In our project we use LDR sensors to detect the presence of a vehicle.

This project contains 2 LDR sensors which are placed apart with a fixed known distance as shown in above image and whenever LDR rays are interrupted by incoming vehicle, the first sensor starts its timer. When the other LDR sensor senses the presence of vehicle, the count up timer is stopped. As the distance and time are received at LDR receiver, the LDR signals is noted and from that we need to calculate speed.


Prototype of Speed Checker for Highways

Here speed is calculated from the well known formula of speed which is distance/time. In this circuit we are using 7 SEGMENT display for indicating the speed. It is easy to setup and supports the required hardware. To design a vehicle that supports the newest technology available will be more expensive than boards that are already close to obsolete.
