The firm remains an important biometric to authenticate the identity of humans. This document presents an efficient method for performing offline signature verification using unique structural features extracted from the signature outline. For classification, a novel combination of Modified Addressing Feature (MDF) and additional distinguishing features such as centroid, baseline area, length and bias are used. This work involves the design and development of an efficient signature identification system. The pattern recognition algorithm designed for this project is based on the overall architecture of the signature identification system. The source code and the simulation of the program are executed in MATLAB.
The signature has been a distinctive feature for the identification of the person. Even today, an increasing number of transactions, especially related to the financial and business sector, are being authorized through signatures. Therefore, the need for automatic signature verification methods must be developed in order for authenticity to be verified and successfully guaranteed on a regular basis. When a large number of documents, p. Bank checks need to be authenticated in a limited time, manual verification of signatures of account holders is often unrealistic. Signature provides secure means of authentication and authorization. Therefore, there is a need for automatic signature verification and identification systems. Handwritten signatures are different from other textual types because people generally do not use the text in it; But they draw a shape like your signature. Therefore, a different approach to processing such firms should be considered.
