In heavily populated countries like India, ordinary people lose their lives due to accidents and poor emergency facilities. These lives could have been saved if medical facilities were provided at the right time. This document implies a system that is a solution to this drawback. Acceleratometer sensor can be used in the car security system to detect the vibrations in the vehicle and GPS to give the vehicle's location, so that dangerous driving can be detected. When an accident occurs, the Acceleratometer will detect the signal and send the signal to the AVR controller, the microcontroller will allow the airbag to blow and the message with the accident location is sent to the preprogrammed numbers such as ambulance, police station, etc.
Transportation has great importance in our daily lives and its development has made many of our tasks easier. But it can cause a disaster for us and can even kill us through accidents. During 2008, traffic accident injuries ranked fourth among the leading causes of death in the world. Almost 1.3 million people die each year on the world's roads and between 20 and 50 million people suffer non-fatal injuries, and many suffer a disability as a result of their injury. Traffic injuries are the leading cause of death among young people aged 15-29 years and cost between 1 and 3% of gross domestic product (GDP). If no action is taken, traffic accidents are expected to kill around 1.9 million people annually by 2020. Thus, the GPS and GSM accident detection system has gained attention. This system automatically reports the accident of the pre-programmed numbers. This system uses Acceleratometer and GPS tracking system for the detection of accidents. When an accident occurs, this system sends a short message to a mobile number through the GSM modem. The message will provide length and latitude values. From these values can determine the location of the accident.
The rapid growth of technology and infrastructure has made life easier for us. The advent of technology has also increased the dangers of traffic and traffic accidents occur frequently causing huge loss of lives and property due to poor emergency facilities. Our project will provide an optimal solution for this setback. An accelerometer can be used in a car alarm application so that dangerous driving can be detected. It can be used as a drop or tilt detector of the vehicle during and after an accident. With the signals of an accelerometer, a serious accident can be recognized. According to this project, when a vehicle encounters an accident immediately The vibration sensor will detect the signal or if a car is moving, and the microelectronic system (MEMS) sensor will detect the signal and send it to the ARM controller. The microcontroller sends the alert message via the GSM MODEM including the location to the police control room or a rescue team. So the police can immediately trace the location through the GPS MODEM, after receiving the information. Then, after shaping the location will take the necessary action. If the person encounters a small accident or if there is no serious threat to someone's life, then the alert message can be terminated by the driver by a switch provided in order to avoid wasting the valuable time of the rescue team doctor. This paper is useful in detecting the accident precisely by means of the vibration sensor and the mechanical electromechanical system (MEMS) or the accelerometer. As there is room for improvement and as a future implementation we can add a wireless webcam to capture the images that will assist in providing driver`s assistance.
