Polymer memory refers to a new memory technology that uses conductive polymers instead of silicon based constructions to store information. Some of the advancements in this new technology promise even more efficient storage hardware and new methodologies for accessing stored data. Advances in polymer memory are exciting: they replace the old method of silicon loaded with a method that takes a plastic or polymer and works on the basis of its resistance. To put it simply, each memory cell refers to a polymer that is placed in a different conductive condition by the read / write mechanisms. This means that the data is stored permanently in the system. Polymer memory has the potential to really change how the hardware is manufactured and how all the information used in IT architectures is stored.
