Key Facts
The main objective of this programme aims at building infrastructure and bringing basic amenities to Rural India.
*The plan also include to cover 40% of the rural area with telecommunication facilities by the year 2014 and
provide broadband coverage to all the 2.5 lakh Panchayath by the year 2012.
*The plan suggests to construct all weather roads by the year 2012 in order to connect all the villages of India having a minimum population of 500
Objectives
*It provides safe drinking water to all the under developed areas in India by 2012.
*It also aims to develop housing facilities for the poor.
*The plan aims to provide electricity to every village, to provide some additional 1 crore hecters of irrigational useful land by the end of 2012.

*Bharat Nirman have been sub-divided into: Six Parts.
1.Water (National Rural Drinking Water Programme)
2. Roads (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana)
3. Housing (Indira Awaaz Yojana)

5.Electricity (Rajiv Gandhi Grameen V Vidyutikaran Yojana)
