Training Rural Youth for Self Employment (TRYSEM)
*Prime Minister -Charan Singh
*During -5th Five Year Plan
*Date / Year-15th August 1979
*TRYSEM provides technical skills to the rural Youth to enable them to seek employment in fields of agriculture, industry, services and business activities.
*The people between the age group of 18-35 and belonging to families below poverty line are eligible for this scheme.
*TRYSEM infrastructure funds are used for strengthening Nirmithi Kendras (Rural Building Centre) sponsored by HUDCO for training of youth.
*The scheme had been merged into Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) along with IRDP, DWCRA etc in April 1999
Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA)
*Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) started in the year 1982-83.
*DWCRA aims at improving the living conditions of women and children through the provision of opportunities for self employment and make them self -reliant.
*It is implemented as a sub -scheme under integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP)
*The beneficiaries under this scheme are rural woman under below poverty line.
*On 1st April 1999 DWCRA was merged with SGSY.
*Swarna Jayanthi Gram Swarozgar Yojana was introduced in 1999 by combining IRDP with allied programmes ie, TRYSEM, DWCRA, SITRA, GKY, MWS, etc.
*National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), The mission, originally mooted for seven years (2005 to 2012), is conducted by the Health Ministry. The plan proposes various fresh teaching local inhabitants as Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), & the Janani Suraksha Yojana (maternity safety plan)
*108 Ambulance was introduced by - National Rural Health Mission.
Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA)
*Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) are community health workers instituted by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as part of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
*ASHAs are home-women skilled to perform as fitness educators & advertisers in their societies and will create awareness on health and its social determinants and mobilize the community towards local health planning and increased utilization and accountability of the existing'health services.
*Class 8 or higher education is must for ASHAs, if possible mostly in the age group of 25 & 45, & are chosen by gram Panchayat (home government).
Janani Suraksha Yojana

*During : 10th Five Year Plan
*Date / Year: 12th April 2005
*Fund sharing: 100% (Central)
*The scheme incorporates cash assistance to the mothers along with free delivery and care after the delivery.
*Janani Suraksha Yojana came into being by modifying the National Maternity Benefit Scheme(NMBS).
*ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) acts as a link between the Government and the poor Pregnant women identified by JSY.
*NMBS provides financial assistance of Rs. 500/- per birth upto two life births to the pregnant women who have attained 19 years of age.
*Janani Suraksha Yojana was proposed by the Central Government with the aim of reducing the neo- maternal deaths.
